Egopusher + Peter Broderick

Wednesday 18 April
8pm - 11pm

RTS Purple Night, in collaboration with the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation

We will give away tickets in the upcoming months! Stay tuned!

Swiss duo Egopusher, consisting of Tobias Preisig (violin, synths) and Alessandro Giannelli (drums, synths), and Peter Broderick, American pianist, violinist and composer, share their virtuosity and love of melodies from jazz to pop. This evening in Geneva, in a venue not devoted to classical music, will be the first Purple Night organized in French speaking Switzerland. These events, conceived by the SSG SRG, aim to forge links between different musical styles and to link Swiss artists with international artists in an informal setting, where the public can discover new musical genres.

About Egopusher
Egopusher are a Swiss, instrumental Electronica duo consisting of Tobias Preisig (violin, synths) and Alessandro Giannelli (drums, synths). Their sound is a mixture of elegant, analog Electronica, with a touch of Neo Contemporary. The project started as a string of late night conversations which took place in Tobias’ vintage BMW, while the two of them would drive back together from gigs, as session musicians with Dieter Meier’s Out of Chaos (note: Dieter Meier is one-half of the legendary YELLO). The official beginning of Egopusher can be traced back to their first show as a duo, a fully improvised affair which took place in November 2013, at the off-space Perla Mode, back in Zürich. The show was epic. An avalanche of live events followed, this led to a self-titled EP – the rest is history in the making.

About Peter Broderick
Born in 1987, Peter Broderick is an American-born multi-instrumentalist and singer, now based in Ireland. Aside from collaborations with M. Ward, Laura Gibson, Dolorean, Efterklang, Nils Frahm, Greg Haines, David Allred and many more, Broderick recorded several acclaimed albums of solo material, ranging from sparse classical compositions or homemade folk music to piano and voice recordings – constantly experimenting with different musical genres and making his name as an increasingly essential artist in today’s musical panorama. Along with some of the most prestigious venues across the world, Peter Broderick has also performed in festivals like Roskilde, Montreux Jazz Festival, Misty Fest, CTM Festival, Green Man, Supersonic and OFF Festival.
